Club Activities This Year - 2009 - 2010

  • 1st - Attended the monthly meeting of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors (Hatfield, Pemberton, and Long)- 3 service hours.
  • 1st - Huntsville Kiwanis 34th Annual Awards and Installation Banquet. Visit by Lt. Governor Davis - 23 members - 46 meeting hours.
  • 2nd - Terrific Kids Luncheon and Presentation at Watson Primary School. (Gabbard, Wilson, Eades) - 6 service hours.
  • 3rd - Helped Sponsor the Antique Car Show on the Square to aid 16 year old Zack Hobbs who is being treated for Leukemia. $100 Donation
  • 7th - Fixed Lunches for 280 Kids who attended the MCHC Annual Teen Summit at the Jones Center - Community Service and Fundraiser (Miller, Eckmann, Gilmer, Lievsay, Pemberton, Gillham, Sevcik, Cline and volunteer Karen Stavert) 11 service hours and 14 fundraising hours)
  • 13th - Attended the District Council Meeting of Divisons 19A and 19B in Sprindale. (Cline) 3 Meeting hours
  • 15th - Club Contribution to the Open Arms Food Pantry of $250.
  • 30th - Community Mass Flu Vaccination Clinic—59 Service Hours (Lievsay, Eckmann, Wiles, Gillham, England, Gaskill, Torix, Miller, McGill, Gilmer, Long, Pemberton)
  • 31st - Regular Club Meetings—avg. attendance 24 - 96 meeting hours
  • 1st - Quilt Raffle for Kids Shopping Spree (Fundraiser)- Totals forthcoming - $500 thus far.
  • 3rd - District Council Meeting at Springdale (Cline) 3 meeting hours.
  • 5th - Attended the monthly meeting of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors , Pemberton, Torix, Johnson, Sevcik, Gillham, and Long) 6 service hours
  • 6th - Terrific Kids Luncheon and Presentation at Watson Primary School. (Gilmer, Gaskill) 4 service hours
  • 6th - Donated $165 to the Kiwanis International Foundation.
  • 23rd - Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner—Club Fundraising Project. Raised $800 - 108 fundraising hours—27 members.
  • 30th - Regular Club Meetings—avg. attendance 24 - 72 meeting hours

  • 3rd - Attended Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Meeting. (Gillham, Long, Hatfield, Torix, Pemberton, Johnson—6 meeting hours.).
  • 3rd - Donated $300 to help in the cost of a Headstart child needing dental work.
  • 4th - Terrific Kids Presentation and Luncheon at Watson Primary School - 10:45 a.m.—12:15 p.m.(Gilmer, Eades, and Wilson). 6 service hours.
  • 4th - Rang bell at Wal-Mart for Salvation Army (Miller, Gabbard, Cline, Pemberton, Johnson, Gillham). 6 service hours.
  • 4th— Donated $25 to sponsor Tumble Express Dance Benefit.
  • 5th - Annual Kiwanis Fruit and Nut sale - Club Fundraiser (Gillham, Miller, Torix, Cline, Dillahunty, Hatfield, G. Hatfield, Pemberton) 40 fundraising hours
  • 6th— Litter Control Project on Gaskill Street—(Lievsay, Brashears, Chaple, Eades, Pemberton, Bradley) 6 Service hours.
  • 11th— 2nd Round Community Mass Flu Vaccination Clinic—(Carol, Bill, Alvin, Earlene, Penny, Holly, Pat, and Eddie)- 40 service hours
  • 11th— Earl Collins Scholarship Review—Torix, Eckmann, McGill. (4 service hours)
  • 12th - Annual Kiwanis—Wal-Mart Auction and Pageant to raise money for Kids Christmas Shopping Spree.—Raised $5,913 (G. Hatfield, Pemberton, Miller, Cline, Gillham, Hatfield, Gabbard, Johnson, Rawson, Woodbridge (16 fundraising hours)
  • 17th - Hosted Breakfast for member ministers and Key Club members during our regular club meeting.
  • 22nd - Kids Christmas Shopping Spree at Wal-Mart. Our auction held at Wal-Mart and the Christmas pageant brought in $5,913. Butterball LLC employees raised $2,079, Betty’s Quilt raised $1,050, and $9,150 was received in donations which were received from businesses, churches, organizations, clubs and individuals who wanted to brighten a child’s Christmas. The total raised this year was $18,192. - Spent $19,367 (We have a balance in our Christmas account for just this reason). 20 service hours. We shopped 60 more kids than last year. Kingston—17; St. Paul—20; special needs students—4; Huntsville 219; Total 260.
  • 7th - Attended Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Meeting. ( Hatfield, Torix, Pemberton, Johnson) 4 service hours.
  • 18th - Attended Chamber of Commerce Community Awards Banquet—(Hatfield, Miller, Rawson, Long, Gillham, Dillahunty, Gary Hatfield, Johnson, Jones, Sevcik, Torix, Pemberton) Club honored with Ambassador Award (24 meeting hours)
  • 21st - Interclub to Farmington— (Eckmann, Harry Chaple, Betty Dillahunty, Kevin Hatfield) - 4 meeting hours.
  • 21st — Board of Directors called meeting—Appropriated $480 towards Child Safety Seat Program—Young Kids Priority One Safety Project; $475 to sponsor “Mad Science Program at 5th grade Parent’s Night at Huntsville Intermediate School.
  • 22nd - Terrific Kids Presentation and Luncheon at Watson Primary School - 10:45 a.m.—12:15 p.m. (Edgmon, Gaskill) 3 service hours
  • 2nd -Interclub to Fayetteville Metro Club (Eckmann, Gillham, Sevcik, Cline) (4 meeting hours)
  • 4th - Attended monthly meeting of Huntsville Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors (Hatfield, Sevcik, Pemberton, Long, Johnson, Torix, Eades, Wiles - 8 service hours.
  • 5th - Terrific Kids Honor Luncehon at Watson Primary (Gilmer and Wilson - 4 service hours)
  • 6th - Attended in Region VI Meeting in Springdale (Hatfield, Dillahunty, Cline, Eckmann, Long, Gilmer) - 30 meeting hours
  • 6th - Donated $200 in supplies for Circle K project (Batterd Women's and Children Shelter in Branson.
  • 20th - 21st - Attended Mid-Winter Conference in Branson - (Hatfield, Miller, Cline, Long, Wiles, Dennis) - 48 meeting hours)
  • 24th -Interclub to Fayetteville Sequoyah Club (Eckmann, McGill, Long, Wiles, Lievsay, Hatfield, (6) meeting hours)
  • 4th - Attended Huntsville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Meeting - Gillham, Pemberton, Long, Hatfield, Torix, Johnson, Eades (7 service hours.)
  • 4th - Donated $2,350 to Chamber of Commerce Building Project.
  • 4th - Approved $500 for Kiwanis One-Day Projects.
  • 4th - Approved $100 for Team Kiwanis in the Relay for Life of the ACS.
  • 5th - Terrific Kids Presentation and Luncheon at Watson Primary school—10:45 - 12:15 p.m. Gilmer and Edgmon. (4 service project hours)
  • 17th - Interclub to Lincoln (Eckmann, McGill, Harry and Pat Chaple). (8 meeting hours)
